Our Overall Aims Are

To relieve suffering for those with cancer and terminal illness and their families
To provide comfort, dignity and peace to dying patients in the community
To provide continuing support for bereaved families and to provide bereavement counselling, where appropriate.

The Sahan Suwa Charitable Trust was formed in the UK in December 2012 and launched in Sri Lanka in April 2013.

What is Palliative Care

Palliative care is a multi-disciplinary approach to provide specialist medical and nursing care for people with life-limiting illnesses. It focuses on providing relief of pain, physical stress, mental stress, and spiritual problems at any stage of the illness. Caring for the carer and the family of the patient is an integral part of palliative care.
